About us

We are driven by a common purpose – establishing a globally harmonised digital trade environment.

Mission

The ICC Digital Standards Initiative (DSI) aims to accelerate the development of a globally harmonised, digitised trade environment, as a key enabler of dynamic, sustainable, inclusive growth.

We engage the public sector to progress regulatory and institutional reform, and mobilise the private sector on adoption, implementation and capacity building.

Operating Model

The Digital Standards Initiative (DSI), operates in accordance with the management standards of International Chamber of Commerce, and under the guidance of a Governance Board comprising leaders from the ICC, Enterprise Singapore, the Asian Development Bank, World Trade Organization and World Customs Organization.

We convene and engage with the public and private sectors formally through the Legal Reform Advisory Board (LRAB) and the Industry Advisory Board (IAB).

Principles & Practices

Principles & practices

Adapt and Apply

We recognise that many standards for digital documents and data elements already exist.  We do not develop new standards but simply highlight and recommend those that will help drive interoperability along the supply chain.

Convene and Collaborate

We do not hold all the answers.  We aim to convene those who have the most relevant expertise in a given trade or standards related domain, and drive collaboration in the public interest.

Transparency and Accessibility

We believe in open dialogue and inclusivity, publicly sharing our processes and considerations. Our commitment is to make information and resources easily available, fostering an environment where everyone can engage and contribute.
